China's naval hospital ship Silk Road Ark to begin first overseas mission

(ECNS) — China's naval hospital ship Silk Road Ark will set sail in early September for the South Pacific and Latin America to carry out its first overseas deployment, the Ministry of National Defense said on Friday.

The voyage, part of the "Mission Harmony-2025" operation, will provide medical services and cultural exchanges in partner countries, according to a statement published on the ministry's official WeChat account.

The mission aims to strengthen ties with participating nations, offer public health support to the international community, and demonstrate China's vision of building "a community with a shared future for humanity" and "a maritime community with a shared future."
