Yiwu stationery enterprises secure global orders

(ECNS) -- Stationery and cultural creative enterprises in Yiwu, Zhejiang Province, are securing orders worldwide. According to official data, from January to July this year, the export value of stationery products from Yiwu reached 410 million yuan ($57.36 million), a year-on-year increase of 12.3%.

A product ordering fair organized by 65 stationery and cultural creative companies from Yiwu was recently held in Bangkok, Thailand. The event showcased over 10,000 kinds of stationery products, attracting more than 200 wholesalers in Thailand.

Chinese products are of very good quality and look cute, a local Thai buyer said.

Zhang Liangjie, a purchasing specialist who owns more than 70 chain stores in Thailand sent six of her employees to the fair to quickly gather information on high-quality manufacturers. Within just two hours, they added more than 20 exhibitors on WeChat.

"Price is the biggest advantage because we can negotiate directly with stationery manufacturers at the fair," Zhang said, adding that she hopes to leverage this large platform to make her brand more diversified, internationalized and trendy.

Cheng Jinjun, an exhibitor at this ordering fair, stated that the fair is expected to double or even triple his company's turnover in Thailand next year through in-depth cooperation with buyers.

Currently, there are more than 3,000 stationery and cultural creative enterprises in Yiwu, covering four major categories: traditional stationery, cultural and creative and trendy stationery, office supplies, and student supplies.

Huang Changchao, president of the Yiwu Cultural Products Industry Association, said that following the success of this ordering fair, they may hold similar events in the Philippines, Vietnam, and possibly in Europe and South America in the future.
