1. 3rd China International Supply Chain Expo held in Beijing
Themed "Connecting the World for a Shared Future," the Third China International Supply Chain Expo (CISCE) took place in Beijing on Wednesday.
The expo covers six key industrial chains, namely Advanced Manufacturing Chain, Clean Energy Chain, Smart Vehicle Chain, Digital Technology Chain, Healthy Life Chain, Green Agriculture Chain, and one exhibition area, Supply Chain Service Area.
A total of 651 enterprises and institutions from 75 countries, regions and international organizations will participate, of which overseas exhibitors accounted for 35 percent. Together with the over 500 upstream and downstream partners accompanying those exhibitors, the total number of participating companies is expected to reach 1,200.
2. China's Ministry of Finance to issue 6 bln yuan of treasury bonds in Macao
China's Ministry of Finance (MOF) will issue 6 billion yuan (about $836.3 million) of treasury bonds in the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Wednesday.
This issuance marks the fourth consecutive year that the central government has issued renminbi-denominated sovereign bonds in Macao, and is also the first batch of Macao renminbi treasury bonds issued after the connection between the bond market infrastructures in Hong Kong and Macao.
A joint announcement made by the MOF and the Macao SAR government noted that the continued issuance of renminbi-denominated sovereign bonds in Macao demonstrates the central government's support for the SAR government in expediting the cultivation of the bond market and other new financial businesses, thereby advancing the appropriate diversification of the economy.
3. Nvidia resumes selling H20 chips to China
Tech giant Nvidia has gained approval from the U.S. government to sell its advanced H20 GPU chips to China, its CEO Jensen Huang told Chinese media outlets on Tuesday.
"The U.S. government has assured Nvidia that licenses will be granted, and Nvidia hopes to start deliveries soon," the company released a blog post late Monday.
Huang revealed that Nvidia is to release a new AI chip designed specifically for China, called the RTX Pro GPU.
"The Chinese market is massive, dynamic, and highly innovative, and it's also home to many AI researchers. Therefore, it is indeed crucial for American companies to establish roots in the Chinese market," the CEO told Chinese state broadcaster CCTV.
4. Cloned yak born via caesarean section at yak breeding base in Xizang, SW China
A cloned yak was born via caesarean section last week at a yak breeding base in Damxung County, southwest China's Xizang Autonomous Region, researchers have said.
The cloned calf weighed 33.5 kg at birth, heavier than most yak newborns, according to the researchers.
The project began in July 2023 as a joint initiative by a research team from Zhejiang University in east China, the Damxung County government and the Institute of Plateau Biology of Xizang Autonomous Region.
5.China completes 'power expressway loop' around southern Xinjiang desert
China has finished construction of a 4,197-km extra-high voltage power transmission loop around the Tarim Basin, home to the country's largest desert, marking a major infrastructure milestone in southern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
The final section of the 750-kilovolt (kV) loop, now the country's largest of its kind, was connected on Sunday, capping a 15-year project involving nine substations and nearly 10,000 steel towers, according to a subsidiary of State Grid Xinjiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., which constructed the project.
Dubbed a "power expressway loop," the project is expected to become fully operational by November 2025, the company said.
6.China's foreign trade up 2.9 pct in H1
China's total goods imports and exports in yuan-denominated terms rose to 21.79 trillion yuan (about 3.05 trillion U.S. dollars) in the first half of 2025, up 2.9 percent year on year, official data showed Monday.
The growth rate accelerated from a rise of 2.5 percent registered in the first five months of the year, according to the General Administration of Customs (GAC).
The country's exports rose 7.2 percent year on year during the first six months of the year, while imports fell 2.7 percent, according to the GAC data.

8. China sends Tianzhou 9 cargo craft to resupply space station
China launched the cargo spacecraft Tianzhou-9 at 5:34 a.m. (Beijing Time) from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in South China's Hainan Province on Tuesday, according to the China Manned Space Agency (CMSA).
The Long March-7 Y10 rocket, carrying Tianzhou-9, blasted off from the launch site to deliver supplies for its orbiting Tiangong space station.
Tianzhou-9 is loaded with essential supplies, including consumables for the orbiting crew, propellant, and equipment for application experiments and tests.
9.35th Hong Kong Book Fair boasts brisk business
