China’s 2025 box office hits 20 billion Yuan

(ECNS) -- China’s total box office for 2025 surpassed 20 billion yuan(about $2.76 billion)as of Sunday evening, setting a new record for the fastest time in reaching this milestone in Chinese film history, according to Chinese ticketing platform "Dengta,” owned by Ali Pictures.

Leading the charge is Ne Zha 2, an animated blockbuster loosely based on Chinese mythology, which has captured a dominant 59.4 percent share of the total box office.
