(ECNS) - The fire department in Shanghai's Xuhui District said the cause of the blaze that engulfed a Tesla Model S is still under investigation.
In a statement posted on the social media platform Weibo, the department said it’s still working with experts to investigate the fire and urged the public not to spread rumors.
Tesla also said authorities probing the accident have not reached any agreement and Tesla will fully cooperate in the investigation and make public the result in a timely manner.
The Tesla vehicle burst into flames after spewing smoke in an underground garage in Xuhui District's Taide Garden community at about 8 p.m. on Sunday. The fire also affected other vehicles parked nearby.
