Where to spend Qixi

1. Boutique hotels

Statistics show that hotel consumption on Qixi has become a dark horse since 2016.

First-tier cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Guangzhou have received the largest numbers of hotel guests on Qixi, according to statistics of online travel agencies such as Ctrip and Tuniu, while Beijing saw the most hotel reservations on that day.

In addition, it turns out that those born after 1995 have become the main hotel customers for Qixi Festival, and these young people seem less concerned about the price than the condition of the hotel.

Statistics show 40 percent of consumers have chosen economical express hotels in past years, while 50 percent have ordered boutique theme hotels and luxury hotels instead.

2. Western-style restaurants

Dining out has undoubtedly remained an important way to celebrate Qixi.

Statistics show 80 percent of the consumption for Qixi relates to eating.

To seize the opportunity for big profits, major catering platforms, especially Western-style restaurants and French eateries in particular, have launched theme meal packages or other activities on that special day. If you hope to spend your Qixi at an elegant restaurant, make sure to make reservations ahead of time.

3. Traveling spots

Qixi trips skyrocketed in 2017, with most travelers heading to domestic destinations because of time constraints.

As Qixi falls on a Wednesday this year, unfortunately, most of us can only stay at work that day.

4. Movie theaters

If you still have no idea where to go, consider watching a movie.

Whether you are pursuing someone or have been in love, romantic movies will always add a little spice to your holiday.
