Three former provincial-level officials have been arrested for alleged bribery, said the Supreme People's Procuratorate on Tuesday.

Miao Ruilin, former vice-governor in East China's Jiangsu province, was arrested by the SPP on suspicions that he accepted bribes.

In November, Miao was investigated by the Communist Party of China's Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Commission of Supervision for "serious violations of disciplines and laws".

According to the CCDI, Miao violated the frugality code by accepting cash and gifts from others and participated in banquets paid with public funds. He lived a luxurious and corrupt life and used his power to trade with the sex services.

In April, he was expelled from the Party and removed from public office.

Xing Yun, former senior legislator in the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, was arrested by the SPP for alleged bribery.

He was probed by the CCDI and the National Commission of Supervision in October for violating the disciplines and laws. He was expelled from the Party in April.

According to the commission, Xing used his influential position to benefit individuals and enterprises on job promotion and business management, and accepted huge bribes.

He was accused of illegally interfering with judicial activities and caused serious damage to the selection and appointment system of officials. He was greedy for the economic benefits and he had close connections with the owners of several companies and accepted their bribes of either cash or properties.

Qian Yinan, former member of the CPC's Standing Committee of the Shaanxi Provincial Committee, was also arrested for alleged bribery.

All three cases were transferred to procurators for prosecution after the National Commission of Supervision concluded investigations.

The handling of these cases are still underway.
