A body-painting contest was also held on Sunday.
"It was my first time to see body painting," said Esther Napoli, a first-time visitor to the festival. "It is amazing that the artists worked for five hours for the colorful artwork and it's cool that we saw the whole process."
Some 55,000 people attended events at the festival, which ran from April 9 to 21. Among activities on offer were screenings of 97 feature films and 70 shorts, said Jonathan Lenaerts, the press and funding manager for the 37th BIFFF.
"About three or four movies are already going in the theaters", he said, adding that "it's a pity that all the other movies won't get to the theater and that's why this festival exists".
Lenaerts said BIFFF wanted to create a unique fantastic world which the audience can experience.
