The Standing Committee of the National People's Congress (NPC) closed its four-day bimonthly session Tuesday, adopting the revised Judges Law and the Procurators Law, as well as an amendment to a package of eight laws including the Construction Law.

Li Zhanshu, chairman of the NPC Standing Committee, presided over the closing meeting, attended by 170 committee members.

The lawmakers ratified a treaty between China and Barbados on criminal judicial assistance, and another between China and Azerbaijan on the transfer of sentenced persons.

They also voted on several personnel matters.

During the session, the lawmakers also reviewed other legislative bills, including the draft vaccine administration law, the revised drug administration law, and the sections on personality, and property rights of the draft civil code.

They also heard three reports of the State Council on medical doctors, environmental protection, and rural industries, as well as one report of the Supreme People's Court on improving court order enforcement.
