(ECNS) -- The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) has received nearly 35,000 visits in the first week since its opening on July 3, 2022, according to the museum on Monday.

Since the July tickets were launched on June 14, about 140 thousand have been sold or booked already, accounting for about 97 percent of the tickets available for the first month.

The HKPM has nine exhibition halls with more than 800 collections including paintings, ceramics, bronzes and jade articles.

The second batch of Chinese calligraphy works and paintings will be on display in the No. 8 exhibition hall on August 3, 2022.

Among them, 15 are early masterpieces of Chinese calligraphy and painting borrowed from the Beijing Palace Museum, including the Luoshen Appraisal Painting by Gu Kaizhi during the Song dynasty (960-1279).

Some of the exhibits have a history of over a thousand years. All will only be exhibited at the Palace Museum in Hong Kong for one month and then sent back to the Beijing Palace Museum.
