(ECNS) - Four giant pandas have already attracted 140,000 tourists in their first month after arrival at Qinghai-Tibet Plateau Wild Zoo in Xining, capital of northwest China's Qinghai Province.

The four much-treasured animals came to the zoo’s Panda House from Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding in Sichuan Province. Qinghai plans to launch a series of education activities about pandas in the coming three years.

Bai Tao, general manager of the Panda House, said tourists from across the country have visited the pandas to learn how well they adapt to the new environment in the plateau city.

Bai added great efforts have been made to create the right living environment for the pandas including an air-conditioning system and food transported by air from other areas.

Now aged from 3 to 8 years old, each of the four pandas has a new role to play as ambassadors of environmental and animal protection, diplomacy and tourism.

The Panda House is also equipped with smart devices to aid in visitor understanding of the animals.

A tourist named Zhai Zhanglei said it was his second time visiting the Panda House with his curious child who wanted to learn more about the bear's habit and living conditions.
