China to work with Russia, other countries to promote peace, development: spokesperson

(ECNS) -- China will uphold its independent foreign policy of peace and work with Russia and other countries in solidarity to promote peace and development and jointly build a community with a shared future for humanity, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said Tuesday.

Mao made the remarks when asked to comment on Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova's positive comments on China's development achievements and her comparison of China's efforts to build a community with a shared future for humanity and advance Belt and Road cooperation to a new Long March.

"We noted the positive comments of Ms. Zakharova," Mao said.

She emphasized that the great Long March spirit has always inspired the Chinese people to overcome difficulties and make remarkable development achievements.

On the new Long March towards the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, China will uphold its independent foreign policy of peace and work with Russia and other countries in solidarity to promote peace and development and jointly build a community with a shared future for humanity, she said.
