China and France issued a joint statement on climate change on Thursday, marking the 10th anniversary of the Paris Agreement. Both nations reaffirmed their shared commitment to enhancing international cooperation to address climate challenges.

China's determination to advance international climate governance is unwavering, and China supports France in hosting the 10th-anniversary commemorative activities of the Paris Agreement, Foreign Minister Wang Yi told reporters after talks with French Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Jean-Noel Barrot in Beijing.

He also announced that China will send a high-level delegation to attend the United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice this June.

During the talks, Wang said China and France had reached a series of consensus on expanding open cooperation, deepening people-to-people bonds and strengthening multilateralism.

According to Wang, the two sides will hold three high-level meetings on strategy, economy and finance, and people-to-people exchanges this year and hold parliamentary regular exchange meetings at an appropriate time to enhance mutual understanding and build consensus.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and the European Union. Wang urged the two sides to remain good partners of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation, properly resolve issues through consultation, and create new prospects for bilateral cooperation.
