In the latest interview with W.E. Talk, Yang Huilin, former vice president of Renmin University of China, shared his insights on how to better promote Chinese culture globally.
Using famed writer Louis Cha’s novels as an example, Yang explained how the essence of traditional Chinese culture is naturally embedded in martial arts stories and effortlessly absorbed by readers. He pointed out that, much like Harry Potter, Louis Cha’s works demonstrate that the key to cultural dissemination lies in sparking interest and emotional resonance. When people embrace such works naturally, it will leave a lasting impression. In contrast, a forced approach often proves counterproductive.
