China's largest offshore oilfield, the Bohai Oilfield, has set a new record by producing over 40 million metric tons of oil equivalent in 2025, said its operator China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC).
The record production is expected to provide solid support for national energy security and high-quality economic and social development, it said.
The Bohai Oilfield, the country's leading offshore oilfield in both output and scale, has seen a 5 percent annual increase in oil and gas production. It currently operates more than 60 producing oil and gas fields and has yielded a cumulative crude oil output exceeding 600 million tons.
The oilfield has deployed China's first domestically developed shallow-water subsea production system, and over 80 percent of its oilfields are connected to onshore power sources.
