(ECNS) -- China launched a new satellite from the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site in Hainan Province on Sunday, according to China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).

The Shijian-28 satellite was launched at 8:20 p.m. (Beijing Time) aboard a modified Long March-7 carrier rocket. It has entered its preset orbit successfully.

The Long March-7 carrier rocket has now carried out 13 missions in total, with this flight marking its fifth launch of 2025. The rocket’s technical configuration and management procedures have become increasingly mature and stable. The launch-site processing timeline has been shortened from the initial 35 days to just 19 days, further supporting the growing demand for high-frequency missions, according to CASC.

It was the 611th flight mission of the Long March-series carrier rockets.
