(ECNS) -- Just a week after turning 28, Chinese runner Wu Yanni won the women's 100-meter hurdles in 13.15 seconds Monday at the 2025 Chinese Athletics Championships in Quzhou, Zhejiang province.
In the final, Liu Jingyang took an early lead but suffered a fall midway, forcing her to withdraw. Wu maintained a steady rhythm to cross the finish line first. Lin Yuwei also fell but still managed to secure the bronze medal in 13.29 seconds. Silver went to Chen Yinfeng from Yunnan province.

Despite the victory, Wu's performance was some distance from her personal best of 12.74 seconds, which she set at last year's National Athletics Grand Prix.
More than 1,440 athletes, coaches, and team officials took part in the competition.
Wu now ranks 31st in the world in the women's 100-meter hurdles. In May 2025, she reached a career-high ranking of 23rd, the highest ever by a Chinese athlete in the event.
