Fudan Professor claims U.S. travel warning misleading American students

(ECNS) -- Professor Wu Xinbo, Dean of the Institute of International Studies from Fudan University, stated on Thursday that several thousand international students have returned to the campus, coming from Asia, Europe, and Africa. However, very few are from the United States. This is not because of any difference in China's policy towards international students but rather because the U.S. State Department's travel warning has misled American students into believing that China is dangerous.

Wu made the remarks during a high-end interview on China-U.S. Relations at China's top security and defense forum, the Beijing Xiangshan Forum. It kicked off on Thursday with a series of high-end interviews on topics such as the Global Security Initiative, the Global South, the security in the Asia-Pacific and the China-US relations, as a record-breaking number of participants from more than 100 countries and international organizations gathered in Beijing under the theme of the event, "Promoting Peace for a Shared Future."
