(ECNS) -- The National College Entrance Examination, known as "Gaokao" in China, has seen a significant increase in the number of registered candidates for the year 2024.
According to the Ministry of Education, a total of 13.42 million students have signed up, marking a 510,000 increase from the previous year.
The Gaokao, which is a pivotal event in the lives of Chinese students, is scheduled to take place on June 7, 8, 9, and 10.
In preparation for this important event, examination papers have been dispatched from Beijing to various locations nationwide.
China Post has been entrusted with the transportation of these papers. To ensure the security and integrity of the examination, a police escort accompanied delivery vehicles throughout their journey.
Furthermore, the entire transportation process is being monitored by the BeiDou Navigation Satellite System, demonstrating the high level of importance placed on the safe and secure delivery of these papers.
This year's increase in candidates highlights the growing competitiveness and importance of education in China.
