(ECNS) -- Xiao Qi Ji, which translates into English as "little miracle," the giant panda born at the Smithsonian's National Zoo and Conservation Biology Institute in the United States on Aug. 21, 2020, will fly back to China alongside its parents, Mei Xiang and Tian Tian by the end of this year when the contract between research institutions in the U.S. and China expires.

The zoo will organize a farewell party from September 23 to October 1 for the giant pandas, it said.

The Little Miracle savors a birthday cake made from frozen apple and pineapple juice for his third birthday on Monday, drawing many visitors to celebrate with him.
