Comicomment: U.S. attempt to challenge one-China principle doomed to fail

(ECNS) -- The visit of U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan was followed by the U.S. congressional delegation led by Senator Ed Markey.

The U.S. authorities have stated that they remain committed to the one-China policy and that they do not support "Taiwan independence". But their actions contradict their words, destroying the political foundation for China-U.S. relations.

The China-U.S. relationship is now at a critical juncture. Undermining the one-China principle is risky and irresponsible. The U.S. must not act recklessly or create bigger crises. Those who play with fire will not come to a good end. Those who provoke China will surely be punished.
