Global community backs one-China principle

The global community has continued to express its unwavering support for the one-China policy following the elections in China's Taiwan region, reinforcing the principle that there is only one China and Taiwan is an inseparable part of it.

During a meeting with China's Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday, Tunisian President Kais Saied said his country upholds the one-China principle, abides by UN General Assembly Resolution 2758, and supports China in exercising sovereignty over all its territory.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Gabonese Foreign Minister Regis Onanga Ndiaye reiterated Gabon's firm adherence to the one-China principle, opposing any words or actions that undermine China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. The minister affirmed his nation's unwavering support for the efforts made by the Chinese government to achieve national reunification.

The Foreign Minister of Niger Hassoumi Massoudou expressed on Monday the country's strong support for the one-China principle, saying that his nation opposes any form of "Taiwan independence" activities.

In Eritrea, the nation's information minister conveyed the government's firm support for the one-China principle in a letter to Wang.

Uganda's Foreign Minister Haji Abubaker Jeje Odongo also affirmed the government's steadfast support for the one-China principle and China's efforts for national reunification on Monday.

In Asia, President Jose Ramos-Horta of East Timor emphasized on Monday that Taiwan is not an entity independent of the Chinese mainland, saying that his nation will remain unwavering in upholding to a one-China policy.

In a statement released on Monday, Myanmar's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reaffirmed its commitment to the one-China policy, saying that the nation opposing any form of "Taiwan independence" activity and interference in the internal affairs of China. The nation fully supports China's cause of reunification, it added.

Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry spokesperson stressed the country's adherence to the one-China principle on Monday, recognizing the People's Republic of China as the only legitimate government representing the entire nation.

In Latin American, the President of Cuba and President of the country's National Assembly have both affirmed their country's unwavering support for the one-China principle, condemning any interference in China's internal affairs.

In the Pacific, the government of Kiribati, in a statement, reiterated its adherence to the one-China principle. Samiu Kuita Vaipulu, Deputy Prime Minister of Tonga expressed the country's steadfast adherence to the one-China policy, supporting China's pursuit of peaceful reunification.
