(ECNS) -- China had purchased 100 million metric tons of autumn grain as of Friday, with procurement progressing at roughly the same pace as last year, according to figures released at a press briefing by the National Development and Reform Commission.
Grain purchases are gathering pace across northeast China as more grain comes onto the market.
With China's grain production capacity growing steadily, annual grain purchases are expected to remain above 400 million metric tons during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), according to the commission.
