This year, Qinghai has developed more than 30,000 mu (4,448 acres) of sea buckthorn plantations. Under a provincial demonstration project for the sea buckthorn industry, Huangyuan has employed more than 56,000 workers and paid out 5.43 million yuan (about $810,000) in wages, turning the plateau's little golden berries into a source of additional income for local farmers
