(ECNS) -- Northeast China's Heilongjiang Province opened its first China-Russia cross-border comprehensive service hall in the border city of Heihe on Thursday, bringing 416 Russia-related services under a single roof.
The service hall, located in the Heihe Area of the China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone, replaces a system in which such matters were handled piecemeal at different service counters.
The hall is designed to support cross-border business, with bilingual staff and approval procedures integrated with services including cross-border legal advice, Russian-language translation and skills training. Officials said the aim is to extend services from processing individual applications to comprehensive support for companies operating across the border.
In the past, handling cross-border business was cumbersome, service counters were scattered, and language barriers meant it took a lot of time and effort, said Kristina, a businesswoman. "Now there is a dedicated hall with Russian-language guidance, one-stop advice and procedures completed in a single visit."
The hall covers 902 square meters and has 30 standardized service counters staffed by more than 10 government departments, alongside cross-border legal services and customs brokers. Services cover Russia-related trade, investment, logistics, personnel and legal matters.
Heihe and Blagoveshchensk face each other across the river, with the two cities about 750 meters apart at their closest point, according to media reports.
