Trade with Asia-Pacific economies via Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge tops $150 billion

(ECNS) — Trade between China and other Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation economies through the Zhuhai land port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has exceeded 1 trillion yuan (about $150 billion) since the port opened in October 2018, Gongbei Customs said.

The total value of imports and exports involving APEC economies reached 1.09 trillion yuan over the period, according to customs data.

In the first nine months of 2026, trade with APEC economies through the port rose 52.8% from a year earlier to 226.33 billion yuan, accounting for 73.4% of the port's total foreign trade during the period.

Average monthly trade with APEC economies has climbed more than eightfold, from 2.52 billion yuan in the port's first year of operation to 24.42 billion yuan this year, which increasingly drives growth in the port's overall trade, Gongbei Customs said.
