(ECNS) -- Power was fully restored to the earthquake-hit area of Baqen County in Nagqu City, in southwestern China's Xizang Autonomous Region, at 8:38 p.m. on Saturday after a magnitude 7.0 earthquake.
State Grid Xizang Electric Power Co., Ltd. swiftly dispatched emergency response teams to the affected area to carry out repairs and maintain power supplies. By Saturday, 301 repair workers and 39 vehicles had been deployed, along with 19 medium- and low-voltage mobile generators, 83 sets of emergency equipment and electrical connection materials.
Crews worked to maintain power supplies at the on-site command center, provide lighting at temporary shelters, connect tents and prefabricated houses to the power supply and repair damaged power lines.
The company will continue to maintain power supplies at key locations in the affected area, helping residents stay warm through the winter and ensuring a safe, reliable electricity supply.
