(ECNS) -- China won the women's team title at the 54th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, on Wednesday, scoring 165.764 points to finish 0.233 points ahead of the United States.
The victory marked China's first world title in the women's team event since 2006 and secured the team a berth at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. Japan took bronze with 164.063 points.
The Chinese team, comprising Ke Qinqin, Zhang Qingying, Qiu Qiyuan, Zhang Yihan and Du Siyu, had already won women's team gold at this year's Asian Artistic Gymnastics Championships and the Asian Games.
China topped the qualifying round to advance to the final but fell behind early in the competition. The team narrowed the gap on the uneven bars before taking the lead with a strong performance on the balance beam. In the final rotation, Zhang Qingying, Ke Qinqin and Qiu Qiyuan delivered steady floor routines to seal the victory.
