(ECNS) -- The futuristic "space capsule" camp in the Kubuqi Desert in Inner Mongolia has emerged as a new tourist attraction, drawing numerous tourists from the UK, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries with its pristine desert landscapes and modern accommodation.
Nestled in the Kubuqi Desert, the "space capsule" camp was built without altering the desert's natural terrain. Each capsule is fitted with floor-to-ceiling windows, stargazing skylights and a range of smart amenities. Designed to withstand the desert's sharp temperature swings between day and night, the capsules allow guests to take in the sweeping desert scenery while enjoying a comfortable stay.
"The desert sunset is breathtaking, and the night sky is crystal clear, studded with brilliant stars. This unique scenery is something you can never experience in South Korea," said Park Hye-jin, a tourist from South Korea.
She described the vast Kubuqi Desert as a peaceful landscape that soothes both body and mind and greatly relieves stress. The trip has challenged her preconceptions about China's deserts.
Since the start of autumn, thousands of international tourists have visited the "space capsule" camps at several scenic sites across the desert. Many praised activities such as camel riding, sandboarding and bonfire parties.
Liu Zhen, director of Dalad's Bureau of Culture and Tourism in Ordos, said local attractions have improved multilingual services and facilities to accommodate the rise in inbound tourism.
Staff have taken the initiative to learn English and Korean, aiming to meet international visitors' travel needs by offering a broader range of services, Liu said.
