(ECNS) -- Air Cambodia will expand its network of routes to China to 13 routes for the 2026/27 winter-spring season, introducing new connections to Sanya, Haikou, Chongqing and Shenzhen and increasing flight frequencies between Phnom Penh and Zhengzhou, the Cambodian flag carrier announced on Wednesday.
Beginning in mid-December, the airline will operate three weekly flights between Phnom Penh and Haikou and two weekly services connecting Phnom Penh with Vladivostok via Sanya.
Air Cambodia also plans to introduce through services between Sihanoukville and Ho Chi Minh City via Shenzhen and Chongqing, respectively. The Shenzhen route is scheduled to launch in December, while the Chongqing service is planned to begin on Feb. 1, 2027.
The network expansion comes as Air Cambodia prepares to introduce Chinese-built C909 aircraft. The airline signed an agreement with COMAC in July to purchase 20 C909s, making it the first foreign flag carrier to place a bulk order for the aircraft. The first C909s are scheduled for delivery by the end of 2026. The airline’s official website also confirms the 20-aircraft purchase agreement.
