(ECNS) -- China announced major breakthroughs in mineral exploration this year, with newly identified resources at the Chating copper-gold deposit in Anhui Province and the Zhugongtang lead-zinc deposit in Guizhou Province, both now classified as super-large deposits.
The announcement was made Tuesday at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office on the sustainable and efficient use of natural resources.
From January to August, China added nearly 70 million metric tons to its proven recoverable crude oil reserves and 610 billion cubic meters to its recoverable natural gas reserves, bolstering the nation’s energy and mineral resource security.
