Recently, State Grid Suqian Power Supply Company completed power supply assurance during the full shutdown of the 110‑kV Yezhuang Substation by using an idle user‑owned substation for alternative power supply, verifying the feasibility of the "borrowing substation for power supply" solution.
In August this year, to support the construction of the new campus of Suqian University, a key municipal project, Suqian Power Supply Company planned to relocate and modify the 110‑kV Shengzhuang Line and Zhuoye Line. During the reconstruction, the 110‑kV Yezhuang Substation would be shut down for five days, affecting critical users including those in Hubin New District within its power supply scope.
To maintain uninterrupted power supply for users, the conventional solution would require constructing temporary 10‑kV tie‑lines to transfer loads from the Yezhuang Substation to other substations. This approach is costly, time‑consuming, and would compromise power reliability due to excessive power supply radius.
After comprehensive assessment, State Grid Suqian Power Supply Company put forward an innovative "borrowing substation for power supply" scheme: it "borrowed" the user‑built 110‑kV Lisheng Substation for alternative power supply, and obtained the user’s consent and strong support.
During the alternative power supply period, State Grid Suqian Power Supply Company implemented upgraded control over the user‑owned Lisheng Substation. All procedures ranging from dispatching to operation and maintenance were strictly carried out in accordance with main power grid standards. A joint coordination mechanism was established between both parties to guarantee accurate execution of key operations such as temporary setting adjustment and switching operations. Throughout the process, end‑users experienced no power interruption or disturbance.
It is understood that the "borrowing substation for power supply" solution offers reference value for scenarios such as overhaul outages of older substations in load‑intensive and grid‑weak areas.
