(ECNS) -- Handmade intangible cultural heritage crafts such as cloisonne are becoming popular wedding gifts among young Chinese, particularly around the Qixi Festival, or Chinese Valentine's day.
In Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, workshops reported rising numbers of customers aged 20 to 35 creating personalized gifts including cloisonné plates, motherofpearl inlay and incense.
Cloisonne inheritor Huang Wenhai said the painstaking process symbolizes how marriage is built through patience and adjustment. Experts noted the trend reflects shifting aesthetics toward personalization and sincerity, while also helping preserve traditional culture by bringing heritage crafts into everyday life.
