(ECNS) -- Bujia Glacier in Xizang Autonomous Region has been recognized by Guinness World Records as the hanging glacier with the greatest vertical drop, adding a new highlight to the region’s ecological tourism.
Located in Suo County, Nagqu City, the glacier is the centerpiece of the Bujia Snow Mountain Qiongxiong Valley scenic area. With an average elevation exceeding 4,500 meters, the scenic area is home to rare valley landscapes and pristine coniferous forests.
Local tourism authorities said the scenic area combines unique natural landscapes with cultural resources, aiming to balance ecological protection, cultural preservation and tourism growth.
The scenic area has already built a standardized visitor center, with supporting facilities gradually improving.
Suo County plans to further develop smart tourism services while promoting sustainable tourism.
