(ECNS) -- China’s Yang Binyu won the gold medal with 4:08.54 in the women’s 3000m speed skating on Monday at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province. This marks the 6th gold medal for China in speed skating at this Asian Winter Games.
China’s Han Mei and Tai Zhien took silver and bronze, respectively. This marks the third time that China has swept the gold, silver, and bronze medals again in a speed skating event, following the women’s 1500m and men’s 5000m races.
Notably, this gold medal brings China’s total to 20, surpassing the previous best of 19 golds at the Changchun 2007 Asian Winter Games.
