(ECNS) -- China's box office revenue during the 2025 Spring Festival holiday hit record high of 10 billion yuan (about $1.37 billion) as of 1:29 p.m. on Wednesday, according to data from online platforms.
As of 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the nationwide movie attendance has exceeded 187 million people, surpassing the total number of the 2024 Spring Festival season and setting new records for the Spring Festival season.
Among the movies, Ne Zha 2, Detective Chinatown 1900, Creation of the Gods II: Demon Force rank as the top three on the box office chart.

Ne Zha 2, the sequel to the 2019 animated blockbuster Ne Zha, claimed the fourth place in China’s box office of film history with 5.035 billion yuan currently, following The Battle at Lake Changjin (5.775 billion yuan), Wolf Warrior 2 (5.68 billion yuan), and Hi, Mom (5.413 billion yuan).
