(ECNS) -- An array of ongoing demand expansion polices would focus on benefiting the people and promoting consumption, said China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) on Tuesday.
The key point of expanding domestic demand is to promote consumption, benefit people's livelihoods, and improve the income of low- and middle-income groups, Zheng Shanjie, head of the NDRC, told a press conference.
Before the National Day holiday, a one-time living allowance were given to the impoverished, orphans and other needy people. Commodity consumption would be expanded by utilizing large-scale equipment renewal and trade-in of old consumer goods. Service consumption in old-age care and childcare would be boosted, cultivating new consumption formats such as digital consumption and green consumption to meet the high-end demand.
