The red serow was discovered in Gaoligong Mountains National Reserve in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Nov. 1. It is now recorded as a new species in China. Infrared cameras have captured the activities of these rare animals in the region's thick forests. Workers at the nature reserve have been emboldened by this discovery and aim to find out their distribution and population size within China. There are no clear records of this species in China, as red serow are thought to mainly live in norther Myanmar. (Photo/Xinhua)
