Hoh Xil reserve covers 45,000 square kilometers in China's largest area of uninhabited land, and is on the World Heritage List as site of natural significance. The station was named after local official Sonam Dargye, who died in gunfights with 18 poachers, hunting Tibetan antelope on Jan. 18, 1994. (Photo: China News Service/Zhang Tianfu)
