A new pathway made of steel tubes climbs up and down a mountain in Atulier Village in Zhaojue County, Southwest China’s Sichuan Province. The village sits at the top of a 1,600-meter-high mountain and was previously connected to the outside world by plant ladders, a dangerous journey with a drop of 1,000 meters. A new access route with 2,556 steps, built using 6,000 steel tubes, opened in June. (Photo: China News Service/Zhang Lang)
