Huang Youliang, a former comfort woman, stays at home in Yidui Village of Lingshui County, south China's Hainan Province, Aug. 2, 2017. When Japanese troops invaded Huang's hometown in Hainan in 1941, the then 15-year-old girl was harvesting rice. The soldiers chased her back to her home, where they raped her. She was later taken to a brothel where she was forced to be a sex slave for Japanese soldiers for two years. A total of 24 Chinese comfort women, including Huang, have attempted to sue the Japanese government in four cases since 1995, but all have failed. Huang died at the age of 90 on Aug. 12.
