Fabric designer Maria Alejandra Mora-Sanchez has developed an expandable 3D printed dress. Working in partnership with Houston-based printing company Cosine Additive, the dress expands in response to the wearer’s body movement. Mora-Sanchez used fused filament fabrication to fabricate the dress, and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) as the primary material due to its high abrasion resistance, low temperature performance, resistance to oil and, most importantly, high elasticity.
