In Chengdu, lush creepers have turned busy 2nd ring road flyover into a stunning green corridor. The 28-kilometer-long flyover, built in 2013, was designed for the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) serving over 300,000 commuters every day. The flyover is supported by 4,280 pillars, all carpeted with rich Boston Ivy which was chosen for its effect in creating oxyen and lowering temperatures. The fresh greenery has added vitality to the concrete jungle and woken up sleepy commuters in hot summer days. (Photo/Sichuan Daily)
