Marian of Slovakia practices Wu Chi Chuan, ‘Ultimate Void Boxing’. Marian, born in 1985, first learned Japanese and Vietnamese martial arts before focusing on Chinese kung fu, including Shaolin school, piguazhang (chop-hanging fist) and wrestling in 2003. In 2008, he came to study Chinese at Liaoning Normal University and then learned Wu Chi Chuan with master Yu Qingdi. After finishing his studies in China, he returned to Slovakia to establish a Wu Chi Chuan center and later assisted the cooperation between Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Slovak Medical University. Then in 2016, he began teaching English in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. One year later, he quit the job to teach martial arts in Beijing, although the salary was less than that of his previous job. He is the only foreigner teacher in the martial arts club and is popular among the apprentices young or old. Marian says he regards China as his second home and is content to enjoy a happy and simple life here.
