Li Zutie, 62, makes tofu at his home in Erli Village in Shiquan County, Northwest China’s Shaanxi Province, April 21, 2017. Li was previously an electrician, before he became blind in 1986 after experiencing an uncomfortable feeling in his eyes. Several generations of Li’s family have been good at making tofu, so Li learned the craft too, even though he couldn't see. He listens to the sound of the heated soymilk to decide if it’s ready to form curds. On a good day, Li can make 32 kilograms of tofu and his wife is responsible for selling the product at a market. The couple suffer from various diseases. Their son works outside the hometown and their married daughter lives in Hunan Province. Li said he receives a government subsidy but he also wants to support his family with his own efforts. Li said “I can’t see but I make tofu with my conscience and by feel”. (Photo/VCG)
