Four young acrobats from Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region have been training at Shanghai Circus School since 2010.

Last month, their hard paid off when they won the "Junior D'or" - the gold medal for adolescents - at the New Generation competition run by the Monte-Carlo International Circus Festival.

They are among 43 acrobats from Xinjiang who have trained at the Shanghai Circus School for almost seven years.

The young artists will graduate in July and return to their hometown and perform for people there.
