Female special operations soldiers practice parachuting techniques under extreme temperatures with mock parachuting equipment. They are assigned to the PLA's first female special operations company of a special operations brigade under the PLA 38th Group Army. The company was established on March 20, 2013. The female soldiers of the company have to receive rigorous physical and technical training and must be professional in marksmanship, driving, parachuting, Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD), seizing-and-grappling arts and so forth.
