Cheng Dongdong, who suffers from amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), plays with classmates in East China’s Anhui Province. Cheng has been unable to walk on his own since developing the disease, a disorder that affects the function of nerves and muscles, seven years ago. But from elementary to middle school, Cheng has always received help from his classmates, who take turns to help him get to school, eat, and go to the toilet. One student said when he helps Cheng he feels as if he is his own brother. (Photo/Weibo of CCTV)
