A number of photos posted on Sina Weibo on December 5, 2016 showed that some black bandages were plastered all over the facade of a dormitory at the Yunnan Forestry Technological College in southwest China's Yunnan Province. The posts, as expected, have raised safety concerns over the building. The school's administrators have said anti-seismic material was used in the building's construction and that certain temperature and moisture combinations could cause cracks in the material. The bandages have been used to fix the cracks. The college said while the tapes affect the aesthetics of the building, they do not represent any safety problems with the structure.
