The excavated crown of Empress Xiao from the Sui Dynasty (581-618) is on display during an exhibition in Yangzhou City, East China’s Jiangsu Province, Sept. 18, 2016. Shu Jiaping, the director of Yangzhou City Institute of Archaeology, said the crown was from a person of the highest status in the Sui and Tang Dynasties (618–907 AD). Included in the exhibition is the original crown, as well as a replica of the elaborate cultural relic, which includes 166 bronze petals and 12 waterdrop-like ornaments.
